Jade McDonald's Mission

 Jade told us how grandma had given her a pancake recipie to make from scratch so they made panckaes and had their caramel sauce on them.  She said it was a slower week. They had found a family to teach but they don't seem totally interested. They are strong in their faith right now.  The seed was planted so you never know what will happen in life.  They are still having lots of fun! 

 Jade told us today that she had the best lesson so far in her whole mission.  She said the spirit was so strong and she was crying the friend was crying and then she told them she wanted to be baptized.  She said it was such a amazing experince.  She told us that her other 2 friends are still on date for Feb 4th and she is excited about that. She also gave a talk on sunday with Elder Ward. It was his farewell talk and she said she spoke for 17 min all in spanish. So amazing. She told of Elder Ward's friends coming to visit at his talk they were from the beach and came over to hear him speak and say goodbye to him. She wants to switch her p day to another day so that they can go and be more like tourists since all those things are closed on Mondays.  She is sick of just going to the mall all of the time.  They did get to play basketball last week which was good.  She said the new elders in their area are not as fun as the old ones.  These ones are...

 Jade told us today that they had a good week meeting new friends.  One family they meet a elder in their mission had told them his uncle lives in their area if they could go teach him. So they went to their house and taught them then asked if they could pray, after they asked if they could pray their way next but doing the cross symbol and holding hands as they prayed. They had visited 2x and Jade said they are so strong in their faith I don't know if it will work.  They also had good lessons with their friends who will be baptized on Feb 4th.  They had a good zone confrence and had a good week with some good meals.  They find out transfers next sunday and are hoping that they get to stay together for one more transfer.  They did not have splits and so they were happy about that.  We talked to Jade she told us that this sunday her and her comp had fasted that their friends husband would also like to be baptized with his wife.  They got a phone call on Sunday afternoon saying that he had chosen to be baptized with his wife on Feb 4th.  Jade was so excited.  She also was playing soccer for her p day. It was zone against zone and her mission pres was there playing with them.  She said this week they were doing exchanges and she was hoping that she got to stay in her area because a family was feeding them that she likes to go to.  They also have a zone confrenence this week that she was looking forward to. They went knocking on doors and a family let them in and then invited them for lunch.  They were able to share a message with them and then they asked if they could take a pic with them.  Jade as able to call on new years day.  It was a nice suprise.  She told us about getting chicken and now being able to use her bbq sauce she has been carring around in her bag.  She told us her friend wants to get baptized on Feb 4th and she is so excited about that.  She said her comp had a dream and then it happened in real life on the news but she would not tell me what it was.  She said they had president interviews and said they went well.  She never goes into detail about that.  She said they went to lunch on new years day with a family.  For new years eve they had a watermelon eating contest with no hands at their house. She won and her face was swollen after from eating the watermelon so hard.  Then they all put on their sunglasses and said happy new year for 2023! Sounds like she is having so much fun.
