Week 3 scary alley

 We got to talk to jade on Monday.  She was at the beach again playing soccer and having a bbq. They were roasting sausages and a huge roast that probably would not cook all the way through I told her not to eat it.  She said she wouldn't and then we talked so much she missed out on all the food. I felt bad but she did not seem concerned.  While the elder was cooking on the BBQ he had started his hair on fire, I said tell him to run and put his head in the ocean it won't kill him to do that. She just laughed at him. Crazy kids. She said that she had a interesting week.  They taught a man English and her comp did most of the talking and when she spoke he said do you want me to teach you Spanish.  I know she is so flustered with the language and her comp does not really do language study with her so that's flustering but steel gave her lots of good advice on Monday. It was fun to listen to them talk together and steel tell her about what he had done on his mission that had helped him out.  She also told us that they were out at night and were supposed to go down this alley to get to the next place and they started to go down but then they just ran so fast out of it, it was so scary. I told her no dark alleys at night that's not safe.  She said the hot dog she had last week was the best thing she has tasted her whole mission. She had gone to a members house a few days ago and she had used spices on the meat and potatoes and it was way better tasting.  Otherwise the food is really bland there.  The treats are not sweet so she is hoping to get chocolate bars in her Christmas pkg.  She is still having a hard time with her comp, she said the others stay up all night talking and she is so exhausted because of no sleep and trying to learn a language is hard work.  So she is so exhausted.  She said some days she starts to dose off and her comp tells her she can't do that.  She want to say to her then stop talking all night.  I hope she can talk with her more and tell her how she is feeling.  She said they had been teaching some friends but none came to church on Sunday so that was disappointing.  They are white washing a area so that is hard to find others to teach and getting to know the area.  Other than that she was doing pretty well.  She said the walls on her house are so thin she can hear dogs barking all of the time and there are stray dogs everywhere all of the time but they are not supposed to pet them because they could have flees.  Yuck. Oh her mission mom took them out for burgers and one sister said does anyone want to share they are big so jade said sure and when it came out her half was the size of two burgers so she was so glad that they shared. She said that was lots of fun.  She said her mom was so nice.
